Jim Greer
Rondo Brothers, Producer
Jim Greer is a bay area producer who has worked with a wide variety of artists and mediums. As a member of beat-heavy production team Rondo Brothers, Jim has toured with such luminaries as Handsome Boy Modeling School, Head Automatica, Crudo, and other projects under the guidance of Dan The Automator. The Rondo Brothers have also released two beloved albums of their own featuring an eclectic mix of triphop, hip hop, and breakbeat-oriented songs. The Rondos have also dipped their toes into the rock-band waters, cowriting with New Orleans jam band Galactic, producing for Red Light artist Samantha Stollenwerck, and producing a seminal hit for MC Lars and Oakland's The Matches, "Hot Topic Is Not Punk Rock".
Jim has also assisted or co-produced alongside multi-platinum producer Jack Douglas on a variety of projects (New York Dolls, The Kin) and a feature film due out in 2009, "Lonely Street". Alongside all the work with artists, Jim has gained invaluable experience scoring a number of commercials (NFL, Dodge, Toyota, Comcast to name a few) and doing some 8-bit video game work. Jim has also helped create sound libraries for Fuel TV, G4, and other television mediums.
Jim also operates a small indie label out of Berkeley, Fortune/Citrus To Citrus Records, and is actively producing and discovering new artists, the latest being a phenomenal singer-songwriter from Georgia named Cyndi Harvell. Cyndi recently performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival and has a record coming out in February, which was produced and mixed by Jim. Other local bands due out with new products from the label are: rapper Poach Stevens, Trevor Childs & The Beholders, Gold Box Kingdom, Hey! Brontosaurus.
